What to expect
When you apply online, you'll start by providing your planned retirement date and verifying your contact information. Next, you'll share your employment history and information about any other pension plans you participate in. You'll also add details about your spouse or children, if applicable, and upload supporting documents, including proof of age. Finally, you'll complete your tax withholding elections, select your benefit payment method, and review and sign your application before submitting.
We recommend submitting your application at least 90 days (but no more than 180 days) before your planned retirement date. The paper application option remains available if you prefer that method.
